There’s a new player matched with the Pistons in the latest mock draft by ESPN’s Chad Ford, updated Tuesday.

Michigan point guard Trey Burke.

“The Pistons are hoping, for a third year in a row, that one of the top seven players on the board slides to them on draft night,” Ford writes in mock draft 5.0, where he predicts Detroit will take Burke with the eighth pick. “However, it the draft holds true to form, look for them to try to address their backcourt at No. 8. The team thinks Brandon Knight is more suited to play the two and would like to bring in a "pure" point guard to run the team.”

In his previous mock draft, Ford had the Pistons selecting Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams, with Burke going to the Kings at No. 7. This time, those picks are switched.

Mock draft 5.0 also has Michigan shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. going to the Nuggets at No. 27.

The No. 1 pick, owned by the Cavaliers, remains Kentucky center Nerlens Noel.
