The Miami Dolphins spent part of their weekend courting wide receivers. As had been suspected for a while, the team contacted Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace, according to a person with knowledge of the Dolphins' discussions with wide receivers.

The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the talks were to remain private, said the team expects to put forth an offer that will be in Wallace's price range.

Rams wide receiver Brandon Gibson, though Gibson is seen as a fallback option if the Dolphins miss out on Wallace.

Gibson, who told USA TODAY Sports last week he likely won't return to the Rams, is expected to draw interest from the rest of the AFC East – the New England Patriots, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
