The Mets' search for bullpen help is ongoing, but another veteran was added to the mix yesterday when right-hander Scott Atchison signed a minor league contract with the club.

Atchison, 36, appeared in 42 games for the Red Sox last season, going 2-1 with a 1.58 ERA. He has also pitched for the Mariners and Giants over six major league seasons. His signing includes an invite to the Mets' major league camp.

The Mets will have no shortage of arms competing for bullpen jobs this spring. Atchison figures to battle Greg Burke, Jeurys Familia, Jenrry Mejia and Elvin Ramirez, among others, for a spot in the Mets' bullpen.
