The Bruins have experienced severe difficulty keeping their defensemen healthy and upright all season, and that remains the case after watching Adam McQuaid go down midway through Sunday’s matinee. McQuaid came out of the game halfway through the second period, and never returned in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

McQuaid finished with an assist and a plus-1 rating in 8:57 of ice time before suffering the injury, and there wasn’t much of an update from B’s coach Claude Julien following the loss.

“I don’t like saying it tonight because he needs to be looked at by our doctors,” said Claude Julien. “He obviously wasn’t good enough to finish the game. We’ll evaluate him, and at least give a precise diagnosis on him.”
