Braves backup catcher David Ross made his second start in the past four games on Wednesday, but manager Fredi Gonzalez said that slumping catcher Brian McCann would likely start the remaining four games before the All-Star break.

Ross was 8-for-26 (.308) with two homers against Cubs left-hander Paul Maholm, Wednesday's starter. Gonzalez said Ross' numbers against Maholm factored into the decision.

McCann was 2-for-22 in his past six games before Wednesday and had a .186 average with three homers and 11 RBIs in his past 30 games.
