The Dallas Mavericks made it official Tuesday when they signed shooting guard Monta Ellis to a three-year contract worth between $25 million-30 million.

While starting all 82 games for the Milwaukee Bucks last season Ellis started averaged 19.2 points, six assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 37.5 minutes per contest. The 6-3, 185-pound eight-year veteran has career averages of 19.4 points, 4.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 36 minutes in 516 games.

Ellis, who has averaged at least 19 points in each of the past six years, is expected to start in the Mavs' backcourt next season alongside another newcomer, Jose Calderon
