Matt Cain's streak of perfection against the Astros reached 11 innings before shortstop Marwin Gonzalez hit a leadoff double in the third inning Sunday, eventually scoring on Cain's throwing error.
Though Houston hitters made some adjustments after the June 13 perfect game, they hardly had comfortable at-bats. Chris Johnson had a good one in the second inning, hitting a sinking liner to Brandon Belt on the 11th pitch.
"I was just trying not to lose," Johnson said. "That's how you have to treat pretty much their whole staff."
