The Mavericks got an up-close look at one of the players that could expedite their revival — Utah's Al Jefferson.

He'll be a free agent in July and is right Chris Paul and Dwight Howard in the free-agent pecking order. But he doesn't allow himself to think about it.

"That's something else I don't want on my mind right now," the 6-10 center said. "Whatever is going to happen this summer is going to happen, regardless.

The Mavericks will have plenty of salary cap space this summer to sign a maximum-level player and perhaps another marquee talent.
