I’ve been told Mat Latos will start tomorrow’s game.

The Reds had been listing Greg Reynolds as Wednesday’s start. But the list on the board in Reds manager Dusty Baker’s offece where rotation is usually written was blank on Reds’ side today.

Starting tomorrow would line up Latos to pitch Wild Card play-in game on Oct. 2 on five days’ rest.

If the Reds stay on turn that would mean Homer Bailey Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto will start the three games against Pittsburgh Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Latos last pitched Friday in Pittsburgh so tomorrow is his normal day.

The Reds have been trying to line up the rotation with all the variables in mind. Right now they would playing the Pirates in the play-in game. The weekend series will determine who will host.

But the Reds could still win the National League Central division. They are two games behind St. Louis entering tonight. The Reds could also ended up tied with St. Louis or Pittsburgh for Central title. That would mean a playoff Monday.

Cueto with his two starts since returning from the disabled his pitched his way into the postseason picture.
