Martin Erat’s days with the Washington Capitals appear to be numbered. He publicly demanded to be traded earlier this week, and has subsequently been scratched for three consecutive games. With Brooks Laich unable to play for the second straight game and Michael Latta already on his way back to the NHL, the Caps don’t have much of a choice but to ice the unhappy Erat.

Considering that the forward’s issue in the first place was ice time, he’s unlikely to be much happier following tonight’s game. He’s slated to skate on the fourth line with Aaron Volpatti and Tom Wilson according to Katie Carrera of The Washington Post.
