Amid no fanfare and among no adoring Oklahoma State students, Marcus Smart officially confirmed a decision that has long been anticipated.

He’s going to the NBA.

In an exclusive one-on-one interview with The Oklahoman Monday, Smart said he’s ready for the next phase of his life, which begins later this week with a move to Los Angeles for concentrated training leading in to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago and finally the June 26 NBA Draft.

“I’ve told my teammates and my coaching staff, this year was my last year here and I am declaring for the NBA Draft,” Smart said. “I have picked an agent, with the Wasserman Group, a great group of guys.
