Manchester United may consider selling Wayne Rooney next summer, after the England striker was informed that his future will not be addressed for another 12 months.
David Moyes, the manager, wants to see how Rooney performs next season before the club discuss the possibility of a new contract.
Although Moyes said Rooney has a “major part to play” and reiterated that the player would not be sold this summer, the manager has made it clear that the 27-year old must accept a role as second-choice striker behind Robin van Persie.
