Manchester City got a controversial win over Newcastle United on the road after a goal for the home team was disallowed. It wasn’t without a cost when they lost midfielder Samir Nasri to a knee injury. Newcastle United’s Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa’s tackle on Nasri resulted in a yellow card, though City boss Manuel Pellegrini thinks it should’ve been a straight red.

Pellegrini also fears that the injury is serious.

“The kick he made to Nasri was absolutely a red card directly,” Pellegrini told Sky Sports. ”We did not have any help from the referee today. He didn’t give a goal because it was absolutely offside, that is the only clear thing about which Newcastle can complain – but it was offside.”
