Manchester United are closing in on signing Brazilian starlet Bruno Gomes.

The Desportivo Brazil forward who has sparked interest from Real Madrid Udinese and Sao Paulo is expected to join United upon turning 18 after impressing on trial last summer.

The Reds hold first refusal over the 17-year-old but the deal is cancelled in the event of a bid over a certain level from another club.

Former boss Sir Alex Ferguson put the deal in place to protect the club from losing out on such a prospect who Ferguson was a huge admirer of.

Current manager David Moyes is keen to take advantage of the deal put in place by his predecessor and according to mufclatest.com the Scot is close to securing his signature.
