Jon Lester's words don't align with his mood.

Asked before Sunday night's game at Wrigley Field for a self-assessment of his season, Lester expressed general satisfaction with his mix of four pitches. Physically, he said he feels strong, and there isn't any evidence to the contrary. He hasn't missed a start and has reached at least the seventh inning in nine of his 14 outings.

One night earlier, the left-hander yielded seven hits and struck out nine in 62/3 innings, leading the Red Sox to a 4-3 win over the Cubs. And after spending a half-hour reviewing each of his 102 pitches from that game, he concluded he "threw the ball as well as I have all year."
