The Tampa Bay Rays' transportation team was busy shuffling players to and from Baltimore-Washington International Airport on Wednesday.

Newly acquired 3B Ryan Roberts arrived from Phoenix, while 3B Evan Longoria headed to a much-anticipated rehab assignment with the Triple-A Durham Bulls, who are in Gwinnett, Ga.

The addition of Roberts, acquired in a trade with Arizona late Tuesday, had quite a bit to do with Longoria beginning his rehab now. Having another third baseman allows Longoria to just concentrate on hitting.

"I finally get to play baseball," Longoria said before leaving for the airport. "The plan right now is just to go out and DH and take it easy and get back (with Rays) healthy and contribute in that way."
