Though he wasn't in the starting lineup Monday against Seattle, Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria said he's feeling fine and should be back in there tonight.

Rays manager Joe Maddon was looking for a good day to give Longoria some rest and said Monday's series opener against the Mariners was simply "the right time."

Taking the day off seemed like a logical choice for Longoria, who said that his hamstring is often sore after taking long flights. After a three-hour flight from Minneapolis on Sunday and a big series coming up in Anaheim, some rest made sense.
