Inter Milan’s plans to sign Anzhi Makhachkala striker Samuel Eto’o could come to nothing as Liverpool weigh up their options over a possible bid for the Cameroon international.

A number of top European clubs have reportedly shown interest in the 32-year-old including Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea with Inter said to be the most likely to secure his signature with the player’s agent reportedly to be in talks with the Italian side.

Eto'o is understood to have been made available for transfer by Anzhi owner Suleyman Kerimov this summer who is keen to sweep out players who he considers as overpaid and under-achieving and Eto’o is expected to be the first casualty.
