Last week USA Today reported that Donald Driver was leaning toward retirement.

Then today, WLUK, the Green Bay Fox TV affiliate, reported that the Minnesota Vikings are open to signing Driver, and that Driver would consider such a move rather than retire.

So what's going on? Almost surely nothing. There's still no reason to think Driver will play in the NFL next season and every reason to think the USA Today report will turn out to be true.

This season, Driver played only 150 of the Packers' 1,325 offensive snaps (11.3 percent) in 18 games, playoffs included; caught only eight passes; and was a healthy scratch for their wild-card playoff game against Minnesota and played only special teams (three plays) in their divisional-round playoff game at San Francisco.
