By all accounts the surgically repaired right knee of Lions receiver Ryan Broyles is doing fine.

He played 30 snaps in the exhibition season and caught two passes for 32 yards. He hasn’t been listed on an injury report for the first two weeks and has participated fully in every practice.

Yet there’s no indication of when Broyles might make his regular-season debut or whether that could come Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals on the surgically-repaired-knee-friendly grass surface at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Coach Jim Schwartz admitted Friday that Broyles’ return is not directly related to his injury.

“It’s probably a little bit competitive” he said. “He’s really not an injury situation. He’s in a situation where he’s just working his way back and working his way into the swing of things.
