For the second time in a week, the Detroit Lions were awarded a former Kansas City Chief off waivers.

The Lions claimed defensive back DeQuan Menzie off waivers today to fill the roster spot left vacant by the release of running back Devin Moore.

A fifth-round pick by Kansas City last year, Menzie did not appear in a game as a rookie after suffering a hip flexor injury. He spent last season on injured reserve.

Menzie, from Alabama, can play either cornerback or safety.
