Third baseman Brett Lawrie wasn't at Comerica Park on Tuesday night as expected. Catcher Yorvit Torrealba was.

In the Blue Jays' season of injuries even players on injury rehab are getting re-injured or aggravating their injuries.

Lawrie had one at-bat lifted Saturday for the rookie-class Gulf Coast Blue Jays due to wet grounds in order to keep him healthy. He was hitless in three at-bats against the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Sunday afternoon in Lakeland.

"He woke up Monday with discomfort (in his rib cage)," manager John Farrell told reporters. "The strange thing is he didn't have any pain going through the normal routines of hitting until he woke up after he three at-bats."
