The United States Men's National Team announced its roster for two upcoming friendlies, and it will be devoid of some familiar faces.

Most notably, LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan will not suit up to face Scotland Friday or Austria next week. Donovan has been nursing an ankle injury.

The team will see the return of Michael Bradley, who has been left off the roster since suffering an ankle sprain prior to the team's qualifying match Sept. 6 in Costa Rica.

"We are excited about the group we have coming in and the big opportunity to finish the year on a high note," head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. "We want to use these games to prove a point and see that our players are continuing to improve as we build towards the World Cup.

"The results in MLS wound up fitting in with our roster plans,so we didn't need to call in any guys who are still in the playoffs. There are some injuries issues that now give other players the chance to step up."

Aside from Donovan, goalkeeper Brad Guzan and defenders Edgar Castillo and Clarence Goodson were not available for selection due to injuries.
