Paul Konerko hopes recent history will sway in the White Sox's favor in Detroit after their latest dip.

"There are going to be some momentum shifts, back and forth, good and bad," the team captain said Thursday after the Sox lost 5-3 to complete a 1-3 series against the Orioles in Baltimore following a six-game winning streak. "You just have to stay the course as best we can and trust what got us in the position we're in, which is breaking things down in small common denominators.

"It's just one game and go out and play as hard as we can and move on. That's why we're in first place, because we've played like that all year. Let's not abandon that."
