Paul Konerko made more progress on Wednesday and appears to be on track to return to the lineup in Kansas City on Friday, manager Robin Ventura said.

Konerko is on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion sustained in last Tuesday's home loss to the Kansas City Royals. The White Sox' first baseman is eligible to come off the DL on Friday if he is cleared by both the club and Major League Baseball.

Konerko performed baseball activities in Chicago on Wednesday as he hit in the batting cage and played catch, Ventura said. He will fly to Kansas City on Thursday, Ventura said.
