Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers was named Western Conference Player of the Week, as announced on the NBA Communications Twitter account.
The Lakers had three victories last week with wins, with two home wins over the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers, and an away game against the Dallas Mavericks. During that span Bryant averaged 31.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game along with 6 assists. In that stretch he shot 55.9 percent from the field, and in each of the last two games scored 38 points or more while also shooting 60 percent or better.
