In his native Finland, Miikka Kiprusoff is a reclusive sort shrouded in secrecy.

"They probably think of him as a myth," says countryman Niklas Hagman. "He doesn't give too many interviews back home."

They'll be calling for interviews today after Kiprusoff eclipsed Mike Vernon Thursday for the most wins in Calgary Flames history (263) with a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

In poetic fashion, Kiprusoff turned away 35 shots to break the goose-egg in the standings for the Flames. Steady and square to the puck, the soft-spoken netminder proved perfect — minus an unlucky bounce off the end boards that wound up on the stick of Andrei Kostitsyn.
