The Kings were headed to another defeat after the way their starters came out and quickly fell behind by 17 points Friday night against the Miami Heat.

It looked as if LeBron James would do what he wanted and the Heat, playing without Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Chris Andersen, would coast.

That’s when Quincy Acy came in to prevent the rout.

Acy scored eight points in the second quarter to lead the Kings in the period and Sacramento outscored Miami 26-23 in the second.

It wasn’t a resounding victory in the quarter, but it cut Miami’s lead to 55-45 at half, a manageable deficit. In the end, the Kings won, 108-103, in overtime.
