If you had June 14th in the Next Time Kevin Youkilis Hits The DL pool, you've won! The Yankee third baseman is once again headed to the 15- day Disabled List with a lumbar strain – the same injury that caused him to miss a large chunk of time already this season. That means that David Adams gets to hang around a bit longer as the only third baseman on the roster. As he was supposed to be optioned down earlier for Thomas Neal, it's unclear exactly where in the process he is. If he was on a plane to Pennsylvania before the Youkilis news broke, the Yankees could end up starting Jayson Nix and Reid Brignac on the left side of the infield tonight.

The injuries keep piling up and no relief is in sight. Eduardo Nunez was sent to the 60-day DL to make some room on the 40-man roster for Chris Bootcheck, who was called up to replace Adam Warren after his six inning relief marathon yesterday in Oakland. Bootcheck was 5-2 with a 3.32 ERA with the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders this season.
