Justin Morneau's experiment in stasis is over. The Twins first baseman didn't like standing still at the plate, which he started doing about 10 days ago in an effort to see the ball better.

Asked if he got anything out of it, Morneau smiled.

"It made me realize that I didn't like it and there's a way that I'm comfortable hitting," he said.

Morneau looked awfully comfortable when he turned on an eye-high fastball from Texas reliever Tanner Scheppers on Friday, July 6, and drilled it deep into the right-field bleachers. It was his first home run in 109 plate appearances dating to June 4.
