The M&M boys are on R&R again.
On the same night Twins catcher Joe Mauer missed his first start of the season because of a sore knee, slugger Justin Morneau went down with a wrist injury that sidelined the designated hitter midway through a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night, April 30.
Morneau is scheduled to fly back to the Twin Cities on Tuesday to see a hand specialist after removing himself from the game following two at-bats against Angels starter C.J. Wilson - a broken-bat groundout and swinging strikeout.
It is the same wrist on which Morneau had surgery in September to repair tendon damage that landed him on the disabled list for two months at midseason. Morneau said it started bothering him during the April 20-22 series against Tampa Bay and worsened during the Twins' recent homestand.
