Did Josh Willingham deliver one of those signature moments for the Twins? Is it possible he turned around the Twins' lethargic season?

"Something like this can be a springboard for a team," Willingham said late Tuesday night, May 29, in the Twins' locker room at Target Field.

Willingham offered some wishful thinking after his two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Twins from depression to a dramatic 3-2 win over the Oakland A's.

Many of the 31,781 fans attending the game had made an early exit for home or the nearest establishment to get a beverage to help ease the frustration of another potential Twins defeat. The unfaithful fans had good reason to leave before Willingham's blast.
