The Yankees weren’t the only ones embarrassed Tuesday night in Toronto. Yankees radio announcer John Sterling completely muffed the call on Alex Rodriguez’s first-inning fly ball to right fielder Rajai Davis first calling it a home run and then saying that the ball was deflected over the fence.

Sterling went into his standard home run call — “It is high! It is far! It is gone!” — but he stopped short of calling it “an A-bomb from A-Rod.” Next he suggested it had “kicked over” the wall. Then he stopped and said “I’m sorry I’m sorry. I got that all wrong. I got that all wrong. At the wall Davis made the catch.”
