The Reds placed three players on the All-Star Team: Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Aroldis Chapman through the player and fan votes.

Brandon Phillips and Johnny Cueto did not get in via the vote.

More players will be named by manager Tony La Russa.

Votto was voted in by the fans. He will start at first base. Bruce and Chapman got in on the player vote.

It will be the third straight All-Star Game for Votto. It will be the second straight for Bruce. It will be the first for Chapman.

The All-Star Game is July 10 in Kansas City.

Votto is hitting .350 with 14 home runs and 47 RBI. He leads the NL in on-base percentage (.471), slugging percentage (.632), extra-base hits (47), walks (60) and doubles (33).

Phillips is hitting .288 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI. He has played spectacular defense.

Cueto did not make it in, despite a 9-4 record and a 2.26 ERA.
