Joe Nathan made sure he kept the baseball from his save Friday night, and it wasn't because of the history he had made.

Nathan got the final two outs against Cleveland for his 28th save of the season, and has converted 26 consecutive save chances -- the most in Texas Rangers history.

Nathan wasn't aware of that record, though. He simply has kept a baseball from every save in his career. Friday marked career save No. 289, and the ball will be stored with the rest of them.
