The New York Jets announced that outside linebacker Antwan Barnes has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Barnes injured his knee during Monday night's 30-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

"No. I’ll tell you what he wasn’t able to finish the game obviously so that doesn’t look good" Jets head coach Rex Ryan said on Tuesday when asked about Barnes' injury status.

Barnes joined the Jets on March 19 signing a three-year $4.05 million contract that contained $900000 in guaranteed money. In five games off the bench this season Barnes had three tackles including two sacks with total quarterback hits while playing in just over 40 percent of the Jets' defensive snaps. Barnes also had a limited role on special teams.
