New Jets GM John Idzik called Mark Sanchez after accepting the job and made one thing clear to the embattled quarterback: Competition is coming.
"I feel comfortable with Mark being a Jet," Idzik told WFAN Monday morning. "I told him we're going to add competition and everyone should be up for it. It's going to make Mark, and everybody else, better."
Sanchez will be entering his fifth season in green and white, and is ready to learn the system of new offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg. The quarterback suffered through his worst season in 2012 as the offense finished 30th in the league and coordinator Tony Sparano was fired.
