The Winnipeg Jets will continue to drive a Chevy for some time to go.

The Winnipeg have agreed to terms with General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff on a contract extension. Cheveldayoff was originally signed to a five-year contract. The length of the extension was not released.

Cheveldayoff is in his third season as GM of the Jets and owns an overall record of 61-56-13 and a 0.519 winning percentage.

The former Brandon Wheat Kings defenceman spent two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks as an assistant GM and was part of the Blackhawks 2010 Stanley Cup championship.
