The New York Jets have agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi today according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Massaquoi was cut this week by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Massaquoi is a former Cleveland Browns second-round draft pick who played at the University of Georgia.

His release comes as a surprise given that he was signed to a two-year contract in April.

For his career Massaquoi has caught 118 passes for 1745 yards and seven touchdowns.

Last year Massaquoi caught 17 passes for 254 yards and no touchdowns.
