Astros reliever Jesse Crain suffered a right calf strain when he was doing exercises in the gym and will go for an MRI on Wednesday, general manager Jeff Luhnow said Wednesday morning.

“He came in feeling better this morning but sore, so we’re going to modify his throwing program in light of that,” Luhnow said. “We’ll know more information in the next couple days but that will probably be some sort of set back. We’ll continue to try to get him to work on his arm strength, but obviously we have to keep the calf injury in mind.”

Crain hasn’t gotten on the mound yet as he rehabs from right biceps surgery in October.
