Brandon Morrow and Melky Cabrera who both spent considerable portions of the summer on the disabled list will likely finish the 2013 season on the DL and prepare for a 2014 return.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons doesn’t expect Morrow or Cabrera to return Sportsnet’s Barry Davis reported Thursday.

However Steve Delabar Dustin McGowan Jose Bautista Colby Rasmus and Maicer Izturis are expected to return from the disabled list in 2013.

Morrow 29 started 10 games for the Blue Jays this year posting a 5.63 ERA with 42 strikeouts and 18 walks in 54.1 innings.

The right-hander has not pitched at the MLB level since the Blue Jays placed him on the disabled list with a right forearm strain June 1. He has an entrapped radial nerve in his right forearm and has visited Dr. James Andrews to assess the injury.

Morrow is under contract for 2014 at $8 million and the Blue Jays hold a $10 million option for 2015 with a $1 million buyout.
