An early evening of shopping for sun glasses at the Eaton Centre turned into a mad dash for Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie on Saturday.

"We were walking by the food court near Sears, went up the stairs and all of sudden we hear gunfire," said Lawrie after Sunday's win over the Boston Red Sox.

"We heard the noise, it was panic, we were out of there as quick as possible," said Lawrie, who had his high school pal Cory Sim in from Langley, B.C. for the weekend.
