Jason Bay can finally say he won a game for the Mets this season.

It took until Game No. 134, but the beleaguered left fielder put the Mets on his back yesterday, bringing the kind of thunder stick to this lineup that has been lacking for most of the season.

With Bay's first-inning grand slam the catalyst, the Mets completed a three-game sweep of the Marlins with a 5-1 victory before 25,333 at Marlins Park.

"It was [Bay's] win today — he set the tone," winning pitcher Chris Young said after the Mets won for the seventh time in eight games. "He came out and he just continues to show up every day and play hard and be a great teammate. I just really couldn't be happier for him today."
