When the Knicks were eliminated from the postseason, Jason Kidd departed in silence, not speaking after the series-ending loss in Indiana and skipping out on the media session as his teammates cleaned out their lockers. He emerged Thursday and spoke, but still had little to say that would clear up his future.

Kidd, speaking in Manhattan at Justin Tuck’s charity billiards event, maintained that the plan is to return next season for the second year of his three-year contract with the Knicks.

But even though he left the impression with the Knicks at his exit interview that he’d be back, there was no definitive word yet.
