Sebastian Janikowsi lost a little more than 10 pounds this offseason, and also lost his sidekick for 13 years in punter Shane Lechler. But the Raiders kicker is excited about the upcoming season, a contract year.

Janikowski, 35, not only wants to re-sign with Oakland but play another seven or eight years here.

“I would love to stay here and finish my career,” he said. “This is where I started and where I would like to finish. … I can go seven or eight years. If I stay healthy, I can keep going.

“I want to play as long as I can and win the Super Bowl. That’s the ultimate goal.”

Janikowski said he can’t remember anybody else but Lechler (now with Houston) holding for him dating back to Rich Gannon the preseason of his rookie year in 2000.
