James White's unfortunate sequence of events in the Slam Dunk Contest two weeks ago in Houston could easily become the second-most humbling moment of the season for the Knicks’ swing man.
The first could arrive Sunday in the form of a 6-foot-8, 250-pound freak of nature who is not only at the top of his game but will also find motivation in having been beaten twice this season by the Knicks. Make no mistake about it, a hungry and driven LeBron James has the ability to turn Sunday’s Knicks-Heat showdown into his own dunk contest.
White — and the rest of the Knicks — consider yourself warned.
“They know that we (beat) them (at the Garden) and embarrassed them at their house so we expect them to come here fired up,” Tyson Chandler said on Saturday. “They’re the champs for a reason. They’re not laying down for anybody and it should be a dogfight.”
