The Arizona Wildcats held their Pro Day on Thursday and many teams showed up to take a look at several prospects, but most notably, quarterback Matt Scott. Among the teams in attendance were the Jaguars who were "well represented" at the event and sent coaches to watch, according to Tony Pauline of USA Today.

Scott, 22, reportedly performed well at the event per Pauline and had many scouts talking about the third round as a possibility for the passer. In a previous report from Pauline that listed the Jaguars as an interested team, he said that it likely wouldn't be "until the later rounds" when Scott came off the board.

The most logical reason to connect the dots between the Jaguars and Scott is the connection the Arizona quarterback has with new quarterback coach, Frank Scelfo. For two seasons during Scott's time at Arizona, Scelfo served as his quarterback coach and they continued to work together to prepare Scott for his time at the East-West Shrine Game before Scelfo was hired by the Jaguars.
