All these injuries are turning out to be costly for Senators owner Eugene Melnyk.

With goaltender Craig Anderson added to the list, the Senators now have $23.6 million in salary sitting in the stands as they prepare to face the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night at Scotiabank Place.

Though many think Melnyk gets a break because of insurance policies, that's not the case. You can only insure the top five salaries on your team and teams can't start claiming the benefits until players have missed 30 games.
