The Indians have re-signed veteran right-handers Daisuke Matsuzaka and Matt Capps after releasing them earlier in the week.

Matsuzaka and Capps will stay in big league camp until the Indians leave Arizona for the regular season Saturday. They will then report to Class AAA Columbus.

Capps is scheduled to pitch in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday and believes he can help a big league club right now.

"I'll go to Triple-A," said Capps. "If a big league club wants me, the Indians said they won't stand in my way."

Capps, who has 138 career saves, experienced shoulder problems last season with the Twins and was behind schedule when he signed a minor league deal with the Indians and reported to spring training.

Matsuzaka had trouble bouncing back from Tommy John surgery last season with Boston. He had the surgery in 2011.
