The Indiana Pacers will have 22 games left in the regular season after tonight’s nationally televised game against the Chicago Bulls.

But by the end of the night, the Pacers could have taken a significant step to winning their first Central Division title since the 2003-04 season.

Win tonight and they’ll have a four- or five-game lead in the division on the Bulls, depending on the outcome of Chicago’s game with Brooklyn on Saturday. It would also give the Pacers the tiebreaker with a 3-0 record against Chicago in head-to-head matchups this season. The teams play again March 23.

The Pacers don’t need to be reminded of what they have a chance to do.

“It’s a huge game,” swingman Paul George said. “Just as we were motivated to go into Toronto to win after losing to the Clippers, we’re just as motivated to get the win (today).”
